Description
The colour is like fresh pale straw.
The nose is flinty and mineral with obscure (hard to define) fruit notes alongside nutty yeast characters and whisky lactone seasoning from the low-impact French barriques.
The palate has a vibrant ‘attack’ of fruit with a seam of fresh acidity, keeping the structure tight and focussed as it moves through to a long and persistent finish. Power and elegance side by side.
The grapes were hand-picked from low-yielding vines on a very steep north-facing limestone terrace. 100% barrel-fermented in non-new French barriques.
Estate bottled and labelled and individually hand-numbered. The wine is designed to age slowly and gracefully in the bottle. Cellar for 5-8 years.
