The wine is a deep red/purple/black colour.
The nose is dominated by dark fruits – black cherry, black olive and Damson plum alongside cedar and vanilla oak notes.
The palate has a strong and rich attack of dark fruit which moves seamlessly through to a vibrant and mouth-watering mid=palate with real structure. There is a lovely balance between fruit, tannins and acidity with an attractive seam of spicy French oak.
Drinking nicely in its youth but with huge potential for ageing and development – with time in the bottle, the primary fruits will give way to further complexities such as tar, liquorice and leather.
Cellar well and you won’t have to think about it going backwards for 15 or more years.
Hand-picked grapes from low-yielding vines on the smallest of our Hill Country Estate terraces. Our winemaking procedures aimed at highlighting the black fruit spectrum and rich tannin structure. The wine was aged for ~ 15 months in French oak (40% new)
Un-fined and unfiltered, estate bottled and hand-labelled. A small production only – individually hand-numbered

A spicy and vibrant Syrah with winemaking focussed on varietal definition. Fresh and lively with typical Syrah berry-fruit and a light seam of black pepper. A great balance between fruit, tannin, acid and oak.

A lively barrel-fermented Chardonnay – essentially fruit-drive but showing obvious oak and yeast influence as well as limestone ‘minerality’.

The light golden colour is typical of a healthy young Chardonnay.
There is definitive stonefruit Chardonnay varietal character on the nose, with a touch of citrus alongside a lovely seam of lightly toasted French oak and yeast notes.
The palate has a clean/fresh ‘attack’ leading to a tight and linear mid-palate. Refreshing and lively fruit flavours with obvious French oak and yeast influence. A long finish with citrus flavours kicking in at the end.
This wine style is designed to drink while fresh, young and lively – and especially food. Enjoy now through to the next 3-4 years.
100% barrel fermented in European oak – mainly French but also a small amount of Hungarian oak.
Grapes were hand-picked and gently pressed as small batches.
Estate bottled and labelled, individually hand-numbered bottles.

A truly unique and unusual style of Viognier defined by two words – ‘linearity’ and ‘minerality’. This is a wine of layers. A food wine.

The colour is like fresh pale straw.

The nose is flinty and mineral with obscure (hard to define) fruit notes alongside nutty yeast characters and whisky lactone seasoning from the low-impact French barriques.

The palate has a vibrant ‘attack’ of fruit with a seam of fresh acidity, keeping the structure tight and focussed as it moves through to a long and persistent finish. Power and elegance side by side.

The grapes were hand-picked from low-yielding vines on a very steep north-facing limestone terrace. 100% barrel-fermented in non-new French barriques.

Estate bottled and labelled and individually hand-numbered. The wine is designed to age slowly and gracefully in the bottle. Cellar for 5-8 years.
